Role: ETL DataStage Developer

Location: McLean, VA (Onsite)

Exp: 8+ years
Work Authorization: Must be on your W2 (No C2C or 3rd party candidates)

Requirements

Role Summary:

The successful candidates will be responsible for designing, developing, and enhancing ETL processes using IBM DataStage 11.x . The role requires prior experience with migration projects , strong troubleshooting abilities, and a proactive mindset to identify and fix data-related issues. You will play a key role in building scalable data solutions and improving delivery and stability across systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop robust ETL processes and enhancements using IBM DataStage (v11.x) .
  

• Perform detailed root cause analysis for data issues and production defects.
  

• Participate in requirements gathering, analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment of ETL processes.
  

• Analyze and migrate existing ETL workflows to newer environments or platforms.
  

• Automate manual data processes to improve stability and reduce operational overhead.
  

• Work collaboratively within an Agile team to deliver high-quality data solutions aligned with business needs.
  

• Support DataStage jobs and Unix scripts in production.
  

• Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for existing applications.
  

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Requirement
Description

Minimum 5–7 years of hands-on experience (v11.x preferred)

Must have experience migrating ETL processes or platforms

Proficient with shell scripting and job scheduling

Strong querying and data troubleshooting skills

Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams

Strong analytical mindset for debugging and root cause identification

Excellent verbal and written skills; must be able to engage across IT and business teams

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with job control tools (Control-M, Autosys, etc.)
  

• Knowledge of cloud ETL/data warehousing solutions is a plus
  

• Experience with CI/CD tools and version control (Git, Jenkins, etc.)
  

• Familiarity with financial services or enterprise-scale environments
  

Soft Skills:

• Collaborative, team-oriented, and open to feedback
  

• Self-motivated with a proactive attitude
  

• Strong attention to detail and process improvement mindset
  

• Ability to multitask and handle changing priorities effectively
