Job Description

Summary

You will be responsible for the daily meals served to children and staff. Working closely
with the Administration your daily duties consist of the preparation, cooking and serving
of the required meals and snacks each day TLC is opened as well as for any special
event. You should always display a friendly and positive attitude and greet parents,
children, staff, and any other stakeholder. Most importantly you should constantly
monitor and supervise the Kitchen duties.

Duties

Key Responsibilities:

● Prepares menu calendar, and food items for daily consumption to include special
events according to USDA and CACFP regulations and standards.
● Updates kitchen binder with required CACFP forms and copies;e.g. Recipes, CN
labels and weekly menu plan.
● Run errands to pick up food items related to our food service.
● Prepare weekly food orders and summits for ordering.
● Maintain organized and clean TLC section of pantry.
● Storage of all TLC food and milk deliveries.
● Maintain up to date food inventory using FIFO rule and throw out expired items
as needed.
● Keep an updated food allergy list and provide alternative foods selection.
● Keep the delivery cart clean and sanitized.
● Break down and remove TLC waste (e.g. boxes, aluminum pans)

Requirements

Qualifications:

● High School diploma or GED
● Food Handlers certification or ability to acquire within 30 days of hire.
● Minimum of 2 years of experience working in early childhood education kitchen
or related field preferred
● Two work related references.
Physical Requirements:
● Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
● Must be able to stand, sit, and move around for extended periods.
