We're seeking a talented Underwriting Counsel to join our team and play a pivotal role in ensuring smooth and secure real estate transactions. You'll be the go-to expert for our members and examiners, providing insightful guidance on underwriting requirements and risk analysis. What You'll Do:
Become a Trusted Advisor: Provide clear and actionable advice to our members and examiners on all aspects of real estate transactions and title insurance. Your insights will be crucial in navigating complex legal landscapes.
Stay Ahead of the Curve: Dive deep into legal standards and regulatory requirements, ensuring our practices are always up-to-date and compliant.
Mitigate Risks, Maximize Opportunities: Apply your analytical skills to identify and manage potential risks, safeguarding our organization and empowering our members.
Share Your Expertise: Craft engaging articles and deliver compelling presentations on relevant legal matters, becoming a thought leader in the field.
Build Strong Relationships: Connect with key customers, promoting our services and fostering valuable partnerships.
Collaborate and Innovate: Participate in meetings and work groups, contributing to the development of underwriting guidelines and educational materials.
Educate and Empower: Create and deliver informative legal presentations for our members, staff, and the broader title insurance industry.
Champion Quality: Provide underwriting approval for high-value and high-risk transactions, ensuring accuracy and integrity.
What You Bring:
A Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.
A minimum of three years of focused experience in Florida real property or the title insurance industry.
A deep understanding of real property law and its practical application.
Familiarity with the title insurance and information industry.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong abilities in change management, resource management, and presentation delivery.
Exceptional relationship-building, planning, and organizational skills.
Proven problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Active membership in the Florida Bar.
Ability to commute to the Orlando, FL area for multiple meetings per quarter.
