**Responsibilities** **Position Summary:** The Transporter will be responsible for safely transporting patients throughout the facility, maintaining all department equipment and a safe working environment within accepted practices. Candidate will provide various methods of patient transportation; this includes transport by wheelchair, gurney, and the use of the Hover Mat and will be required to transport deceased patients to the Morgue. Will work closely with clinical staff to escort the patient to various clinical departments and through the discharge process. Transporter will report to Manager of Transportation who in turn reports to the Assistant Director of Housekeeping and Transportation. **Qualifications** **Minimum Requirements:** + BLS (AHA required) + Must be able to pass a criminal background check with California Department of Corrections and transport prisoners as part of daily job requirements + HSD/GED OR 2 years equivalent work experience + Attention to detail is a must + Must be able to work effectively with multiple departments **Preferred:** + Previous Hospital Transport or Guest Relations experience + Previous Patient Transport or Guest Services experience Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire.
