Position Summary

As a  Freight Inspector , you will act as an independent contractor conducting on-site inspections at freight terminals, warehouses, and service centers. Your role is crucial in documenting and reporting damaged freight, ensuring accurate and fair claims resolution across the logistics industry. This is a flexible, part-time opportunity ideal for individuals seeking side income with autonomy and minimal physical labor (inspections typically take under 30 minutes).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Travel locally (within ~15 miles) to conduct on-site freight inspections
• Evaluate shipments and document freight damage or packaging issues
• Capture high-quality photos and detailed notes of inspected goods
• Submit accurate inspection reports using the proprietary online templates
• Ensure reports are completed and submitted within 3 business days
• Maintain professionalism and reliability when representing the company to clients

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Reliable personal transportation and willingness to travel locally
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds as needed during inspections
• Ownership of:
  • Smartphone with camera
  • Computer and printer
  • High-speed internet access
• Availability during regular business hours (Monday–Friday)
• Strong attention to detail, time management, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines consistently
